Swiftwater Rescue Courses and Training, High Angle Rope Training, Technical Rope Courses in B.C. - Raven RescueCourses - Swiftwater Rescue Technician
Water and Rope Technician
Umbrella certification for swiftwater and rope rescue.
This umbrella certification is granted jointly by Rescue 3 and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Certification indicates that you have met ALL of the NFPA 1670 Standard for technicial swiftwater incidents. It is the highest level of certification possible, before becoming an instructor (which trains you to the NFPA 1006 Standard).
To obtain this certification you must complete three separate courses:
- Swiftwater Rescue Technician - Level One (3 days)
- Swiftwater Rescue Technician - Advanced (3 1/2 days)
- Technical Rope Rescue (5 days)
Combined, these three courses provide a minimum of 88 hours of technician-level swiftwater, night operations, low and high angle rope training. This certification qualifies you to perform high-risk, in-water rescues utilizing rope systems and non-motorized watercraft.
The certificate that is issued upon completion of the required courses carries official seals from both Rescue 3 International and the NFPA.
